QB Pro Timer

I just upgraded to Enterprise Solutions 2023 Desktop Subscription and now I cannot import timer activities as I did with Quickbooks Premier 2020.  Quickbooks forced me to upgrade since they would not support the payroll after May 2023 and now to find out I cannot import the timer activities as I have for many years.

 

Has anyone come up with a solution other than subscribing to Time?

 

I tried to import as an iif file but the import fails and I cannot view the file to find out what the errors are.

    Hi there, @KM2023.

     

    With the launch of QuickBooks Desktop 2022 and Enterprise 22.0, some features are no longer available. And one of these is the QuickBooks Pro Timer. As a result, importing timer activities is not an option when upgrading to Enterprise Solutions 2023 Desktop subscription.

     

    As a workaround, you can consider visiting the QuickBooks Desktop Marketplace, which features third-party applications developed by our independent developer partners.

    Thanks for your reply however this is quite disappointing to remove a perfectly good feature and to now have to pay a per user fee to track time activities. In addition, I have to spend hours trying to find the best add on to work with my company.  Why did they remove this feature of importing Timer Activities?!?

     

    There has be a better solution to this.  Please bring back the Import Timer Activities Feature!

      Let me provide some information about the feature QuickBooks Pro Timer are no longer available for QuickBooks 2022 version. 

       

      I can see that having the option to import and export timer activities are a great factor that gives convenience and flexibility to your business. You'll want to let our product team know how this feature benefits you and your company by sending feedback. To do this, you can follow the steps below. 

       

      1. Go to the Gear icon.
      2. Select Feedback.
      3. Enter a brief description of your product suggestion.
      4. Click Next to submit feedback.

       

      We regularly take your suggestions into account while updating our products. In this, you can track the progress of your feature request in our Feedback forum.

        No. I had to use Quickbooks Time until a better solution is found.

        Hello! I am trying to find a resolution to the loss of QB Pro Timer for a client. Could the export come in as an excel file? If so, could we then use Transaction Pro Import tool to import the excel into QBDT?

        Although the applications available on our marketplace are supported and can be integrated with QuickBooks, please know that they're still different programs and we don't have specific knowledge about their respective features and abilities.
         

        Yes, you can import your data through Excel but it depends on your chosen third-party application. You may want to take a look at how this app works on this page: Apps help QuickBooks run better. Enter "Transaction Pro" in the Search by name, keyword, job, or category field and select Key benefits.
         

        Alternatively, you can also get in touch with their Support Team by giving them a call or sending an email. Their contact information is also provided on the page.

        I have been using QBTimer since it came out. As an Architectural Firm that bills and tracks by customer/time/class, I find being forced to upgrade, and not providing a solution to continue using QBTimer reprehensible on Quickbooks.

        PLEASE provide a solution that allow our employees to enter time that can be imported into QB.

        I feel your frustration.  I just upgraded to 2024 version from 2021 and I am just now discovering I cannot import my timer activities from a 3rd party time clock I use.  Now I am having to manually enter time data for 25 employees every payroll.  Beyond frustrating!!!  I'm already looking for a better accounting solution for my company and not just because of this issue.  Good luck

        I am using both QB21 just for Timer & Billing.   And QB24 business activity, just enter the net invoice from QB21 into QB24.    ann
