QB Time and Admin Access

Surely I am missing something.  In order for the payroll clerk to sync QB Time to QB Desktop 2022, they have to sign in with the company master admin account?  Throw all permissions out the window and let them have access to all of the company information?  This does not seem logical to me.  How can a payroll clerk, who has Admin access in QB Time and is a Payroll Manager and Payroll Processor in Intuit and QB sync QB Time without logging in as the admin?

    I understand how frustrating it can be needing to sign in as the Admin user in both programs for the sync to work. However, this is the requirement for now. You can see more information about syncing between QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Time in the help article that I've included below.

    I realize that only the primary admin can sync payroll, but I am trying to follow the instructions to switch someone to the primary admin but when I go into that person's profile, the "Primary Admin" selection is not available to select.

    Hello, ksl1963. Let's determine the reason behind the unavailability of the option and work together to find a solution.

     

    To transfer the primary admin role, you need to be sure that you sign in as the primary admin. This will grant you the necessary permissions and access to perform the user admin transfer.     After transferring the primary admin role to another user, she/he can proceed with syncing the payroll into QuickBooks Desktop.
