Hello, I'm trying to late efile 2021 form 940 for a new client, but the form is set to manual file and I can't figure out how to change it to efile. All of the other forms are being efiled and this was efiled for 2020. Can someone help? Taxes and forms are set to “I'll initiate payments and filings using QuickBooks.”

I'll share important details about handling late 940 forms in QuickBooks Online, @shannonr.

Any forms to be filed beyond May 1st will have to be done manually. To file it, proceed to payroll tax filings. For detailed steps on how to file your forms manually, you may refer to this article: Pay and file payroll taxes and forms in Online Payroll.

Additionally, let me share this link to help view payroll tax payments and forms in QuickBooks Online Payroll: Access payroll tax forms and tax payments.

I'll share what else you need to know if you have more questions about managing payroll forms in QuickBooks. Just reply here and I'll add the details.

Thank you. So it the reason it is set to manual just because it was so far beyond the deadline? Is that what you mean when you say "Any forms to be filed beyond May 1st"? Do you just mean any forms that were due by 1/31/22 and still not filed by 5/1/22?
