Thanks for bringing this up in the QuickBooks Community page, @shubert.

There are times when too much cache stored in a browser can cause unexpected behavior with the product. This can be the reason why you're getting back to a blank page when running payroll.

We can run some basic troubleshooting steps to isolate and fix the issue. To start, open your account using a private window. This doesn't save your web searches and will help us check if the concern is cache-related.

Simply press the following shortcut keys to access this mode:

  • Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Firefox).
  • Control + Option + P (Safari).

If you're able to successfully open the Payroll window, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. If the same things happen, use another supported browser instead. This might be a temporary issue with QuickBooks and the current browser that you use.

Moreover, you can run several payroll reports in QuickBooks to get a closer look at your business finances. You can check them out on this article and how to access them: Run payroll reports in QuickBooks Online Payroll.

If you have any other concerns about running payroll, or when dealing with your payroll task, let me know. I'll ensure your needs and questions are addressed properly and timely.
