Let's perform some basic troubleshooting steps to help activate your terminated employee. I'm here to walk you through the process.
Cache stores data so that future requests can be served faster. When there are too many outdated files, it causes unexpected behavior in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Log in to your account via incognito mode or private browsing, which doesn't save browsing history and runs much faster. Then reactivate your worker from there. You can use these shortcut keys to open a private browser:
Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
Safari (new versions): Command + Option + P
If this works, go back to the regular browser and clear the cache to start fresh. Otherwise, use another supported browser to update the employee's status.
This article outlines the steps for updating your employee's employment status: Terminate or change your employee's payroll status. It contains links to delete the worker's profile and create a final paycheck.
Feel free to browse the QBO Payroll hub for future reference. It includes topics that will assist you with your taxes, forms, and other payroll-related tasks.
