I transferred payroll 3 business days ago and it still not reflected in my Quickbooks Payroll account.  It was immediately deducted from my primary business account.  I need to run payroll.  Suggestions?

Thanks for reaching out to us, vllynn.

Payroll isn't reflecting in your QuickBooks Payroll account may be because of your Direct Deposit (DD) funding time. Let's look at your specific funding timeframe to decide what course of action to take.

Depending on your payroll subscription, the following information below are the funding time available in QuickBooks Payroll:

  • Same-day: Workers are paid the same day you send your payroll to us. This is only available in QuickBooks Online Payroll Premium or Elite.
  • Next-day: Workers are paid the next banking day after you send your payroll to us.
  • 2-day: Workers are paid two banking days after you send your payroll to us.
  • 5-day: Workers are paid five banking days after you send your payroll to us.

Here's how to check your funding time:

  1. Select Settings ⚙️, then Payroll settings.
  2. Scroll to the Direct Deposit section.
  3. You'll see your funding time above your direct deposit limits.

If you're within that timeframe, I encourage you to contact our Payroll Support Team. They'll be able to pull up your account and do a Direct Deposit trace.

In the meantime, you may consider turning off the direct deposit feature and run paper check payroll to pay your employee's on time. I'll show you how.

  1. Go to Payroll from the left menu.
  2. Select the Employees tab.
  3. Choose Run payroll.
  4. Click the direct deposit icon at the right of the employee's name.
  5. Choose Paper check.
  6. Preview and submit the rest of your payroll as you normally would.
  7. Finish the payroll and don't forget to print or write the paper check and give it to the employee.
