Hi there, Carol.

In QuickBooks Online Payroll, the paycheck's issue date should reflect when the employee receives it, even if they cash or deposit it later. Let me provide you more information about this.

When you create the paycheck, you'll select the pay date as the date the check is given to the employee. Using that pay date is important for tracking purposes, such as payroll taxes and financial reports. The date the employee cashes the check doesn't affect the payroll records in QuickBooks, but it's also essential for your records if you're tracking when the funds are withdrawn from your bank account.

Moreover, you can also consider setting up direct deposit for your employees. This way, your employees will receive paychecks in their checking, savings, or money market accounts. Otherwise, you can also learn how to print paychecks or pay stubs for your employees in QBO Payroll.
