QuickBooks Online Payroll error

I was not able to run payroll this past period. I got an error message that I’ve never seen before and ive been using Intuit Payroll for over 20 yrs. 

 

The error:

“Either the Repayment account, or its parent account, is an inappropriate account type.  Please check the account types in your company’s Chart of Accounts.

 

I called for support twice and was helped by level 1,2 and 3 personnel and then was told that a technician would have to get involved to remove the error from our account. I was told that I would receive a call back both times and I never received a call back.  We have a stand-alone payroll account that is not connected to any other intuit accounts and does not have options for “chart of accounts”.

 

I would greatly appreciate anyone’s help to fix this problem. Thank you.

I looked up more information on this and confirmed that there is no ongoing investigation. I suggest checking your bank account in the Payroll setting. Please make sure you choose the right account.

 

I know you have already contacted us about the situation, but I'd still advise you to speak with our Payroll Support Team if the error continues. One of our representatives will gather some personal information to check your account.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to Help.
  3. Choose Contact Us.
  4. Type in your concern, then click on Let's talk.
  5. Select a way to connect with us:

 

  • Start a chat with a support expert.
  • Get a callback from the next available expert.
