Quickbooks Payroll does not properly auto-file payroll taxes
I have been having a problem for some time now where QB payroll does not submit EFT payments for payroll taxes on time when it is set up for autopay.
It used to be that we would run payroll on one month, and the payroll taxes would be due by the 15th of the following month (ex. 1/1/22 payroll would be due on 2/15/22). Because of the amount of payroll we are running now, the IRS has previously sent us a letter that payroll taxes must be submitted IMMEDIATELY upon running payroll. Quickbooks does not recognize this issue and continued paying on the 15th of the following month which led me to be fined by the IRS for a sizable amount.
I called and was told that the QB payroll dates WERE right (despite definitely not being in my case) and that if I wanted to pay at a different date, I would have to do it manually.
This is becoming extremely burdensome. My family got sick and I forgot to process it for about two weeks and wound up with another sizable bill from the IRS. Why is there no way for QB payroll to process EFT transfers to the IRS upon running payroll? It's ridiculous that it is on me to manually go into the system and click pay for all of our employees when payroll is run. Is there a solution to this?
QB customer service continues to tell me that the due date in payroll is correct. It is not, and they have no idea what they're talking about which is so frustrating.
