I accidentally let my sub expire because of non payment. All my tax data is gone from the last 2-3 years. Is this able to be recovered or am I down bad and out of luck?

I know how the tax data is essential in maintaining accurate financial records for historical reference, @tmpettig.

In QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), if the account has been canceled, the program retains your company file for one year. During this time, you can log in as a read-only to get the necessary data. If you've saved any paper or electronic copies of your tax data, you can generate a Tax summary or Tax details report. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Locate the report you want to download, either Tax summary or Tax details.
  3. Pick the time period or tax year from the dropdown.
  4. Click View or Download.
  5. Select the arrow icon and then  Print or Download.

Additionally, you can also reach out to the IRS to obtain copies of your tax returns from previous years.

Otherwise, if you resubscribe within one year of cancellation, your data should not be missing. With that said, you can contact our Support team to further check why your tax data from the last 2-3 years is unavailable.

Here's how you can reach them:

  1. Go to (?) Help on the upper right corner, then click Contact Us.
  2. In the What can we help you with? field, enter your inquiry.
  3. Once done, click Continue.

Our live support is available M-F, 6 AM to 6 PM, and Saturday, 6 AM to 3 PM PT.
