Hello,

I recently noticed that the gross pay for our salaried employees is the same every pay period, but the net pay looks like it differs each check by $5-$13 depending on the employee. What is the reason for this?

Hi there, @Aria Wittenberg.

I'll share some information about the factors that affect employees' salaries. Each employee may have different deductions, taxes, benefits, and commissions.

Find out what factors affect the sums in Boxes 1, 3, and 5 on the W-2s of your employees. Checking common payroll scenarios and examples that may impact these boxes can be helpful. It's best to understand why the wage amounts are different on your employee's W-2.

You can also check on how to set up your employees' deductions.

Additionally, to prepare for tax season, learn the answers to your most frequent W-2 queries.

Know that you're always welcome to post a reply in this thread if you have any other questions about payroll. I'll be here ready to assist you. Keep safe, and wishing you continued success!
