I'm in California & need to run a Sales report showing Taxable & Non-Taxable Sales in order to complete the CA Sales Tax Agency report. How do I get this info in QBO?

Hi there, @maryann-krisnati. I've got just the steps you'll need in getting your desired sales report.

You can run the Sales by Product/Service Detail or Sales by Customer Detail report and customize it to get the taxable & non-taxable sales.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Select the "Sales by Product/Service Detail" or "Sales by Customer Detail" reports under the Sales and customers section.
  3. Click the Customize button.
  4. Modify the reporting period.
  5. Go to the Rows/Columns section and click Change columns.
  6. Select the Taxable (only available in Sales by Product/Service Detail), Tax NameTax Amount, and Taxable Amount checkboxes.
  7. Once done, click Run Report.

You can continue customizing the report to get the specific details you need. Then, memorize it to save its current customization settings.

I was hoping there was a way to see Non-Taxable Sales & Taxable Sales ( not just the Tax amount) in one report. The report I need to complete for the Sales Tax agency in California requires both numbers. I ran our P&L to get total Sales & backed into the Non-Taxable Sales using the tax withheld amount. Seems there should be a report that shows both numbers. QB Desktop had the perfect Sales Liability report I could run from Vendors Payable.
