Sending payroll & pay stubs

Is there a way to select or deselect pay stubs that go to Workforce when sending payroll via direct deposit?

I issued some paper bonus checks so they could be handed out instead of our normal direct deposit.  We wanted to keep the bonuses quiet until employees met with the boss.  However, the next time payroll was run, all the pay stubs were uploaded to Workforce and everyone became immediately aware of their bonus.  Is there a way to submit direct deposit without sending all the pay stubs?

Welcome to the Community space, Melinda44.

Let me share some information about the QuickBooks Workforce.

Currently, the option to select or deselect pay stubs to be sent to QuickBooks Workforce is unavailable. After you send payroll through direct deposit, the employees will be notified to view them.

You'll want to send a request for this feature to our Product Development Team. They'll review this idea and might consider updating it in the future.

Here's how you can send feedback:

  1. In your QuickBooks Desktop program, go to Help Send Feedback Online > Product Suggestion.
  2. Enter your request and click Send Feedback

On the other hand, your employees can turn off the notifications from their end by following these steps:

  1. Have your employee sign in to QuickBooks Workforce.
  2. Select the Gear icon at the top left corner, then choose Email Notification.
  3. Turn the email notification on/off by toggling the checkbox Send me an email when new pay stubs are available.

For more information about the QuickBooks Workforce, please feel free to read this article: Send payroll and direct deposit paychecks in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.

You're welcome to post a reply if there's anything else you need. I'll be around to help you out again. Take care and stay safe!
