Hi there, @bhoidas.

Allow me to provide some insights about the verification codes that are sent to you when logging in to your account.

Intuit is committed to securing your information by providing advanced security tools and systems. The  two-step verification is an additional layer that strengthens the security of your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

If this feature doesn't work for your business, then you have the option to turn it off.

Here's what you'll need to do if you're using the same phone number:

  1. Sign in to your Intuit account.
  2. Tap Sign In & Security from the left menu.
  3. In the “Two-step verification” section, click on Turn off.
  4. Enter the code.
  5. Select Continue.

If you're using a different phone number, you'll need first to update your phone number so you can log in to the account. Once done, you can now turn off the two-step verification.

For more information about this process, take a look at this article: Turn on or turn off two-step verification.

Be sure to let me know how else I can empower you to make QuickBooks work the way your business needs. I'm always here to help. Take care!

Hello there, @bhoidas.

I appreciate you reading the answer provided by one of my peers. Since the two-step verification is already off but you are still having the same issue. I'd recommend you clear your browser's cache.

Here's how:

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More.
  3. Click More tools and then Clear browsing data.
  4. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
  5. Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.
  6. Click Clear data.

Most of the time, you only need to clear your browser's cache. But if you keep having the same problem even after doing that, you can clear Intuit-specific cookies. This helps refresh website preferences that might be causing problems when you use QuickBooks.

You can also contact QuickBooks products and services support if the issue persists.

Feel free to reach back out to me if I can be of more help with your concern about the two-step verification. I'll make sure to get back to you as soon as I can.

20+ codes entered today.  YES IT'S ME INTUIT . Would be great if I could get some work done instead of having to enter a code over and over.

Is there a solution to fix this? Tried clearing my browser, no luck

Hi there, @Dale72.

I appreciate you joining this conversation and following the steps shared by my colleagues above. Allow me to jump in and help ensure this is taken care of for you.

Since the issue persists after performing those steps above, I highly suggest contacting our Support team. They have tools that can pull up your account in a secure environment and check the cause of this odd behavior. They can also perform other troubleshooting steps if necessary.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. In QuickBooks Online (QBO), click the Help (question mark) icon at the top right.
  2. Select a suggested option, or type a question or topic you need help with.
  3. Tick Contact Us and choose a way to connect with us.

For more tips and other resources, I also recommend visiting our website: QBO self-help articles.

I'm only a few clicks away if you have more questions about this or anything else QuickBooks. I'll be here ready to help. Take care and have a good one.

What is the secret???...Every time programmers at quickbooks make a small change, they mess up something else. Your customers don't need to put up with your incompetence. Followed the instructions on how to turn off the verification code, and it will not let me turn it off.

Never had any problems with the desk top version.  Come January 1st, 2023, I am going back to the desktop version.

I'm having the same issue. I've tried clearing cookies (huge pain in the A) and cache.  Nothing works. It stopped doing it for a little while when I switched to 1Password, but then started asking for the code again last week after ensuring that I'm not a Robot (10x a day!). I did not change anything at all so no clue what caused it to stop recognizing my computer.  Like everyone else I have my 2-step verification turned OFF so this should not continue to happen.  QBO needs to have a "remember my computer for 30 days" option or just fix this problem.  So many issues with QBO - the only reason I'm using it is because one of my clients has it.  Thankfully my other clients use different systems. Not impressed.

Relief.  I had this exact same problem and it was driving me nuts.  Turn off 2-factor, clear cache, didn't matter.  Finally I tried disabling my Ad Blocker for Intuit.com and I can joyfully sign in without the stupid verification EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Haaa... not having an Ad blocker so not doing the trick for me 😞

I just called support and logged a ticket and asked them to keep it open until someone actually calls me to test it on my screen.

To be continued....

Update: It looks like they finally managed to fix it. It's been over a month that I haven't been prompted !

Yes.. just like any standard SAAS ! 🙂

February 2, 2024

update 2024: Looks like Intuit has now re-introduced the issue and worse, the time out is less than 1 hour and I get "We signed you out due to inactivity.

We automatically sign you out of your Intuit products when you're inactive."

Last week Quickbooks started asking me to check that I'm "not a robot" then enter my password and enter the 6 digit varication code every time I log in, even when logging in within minutes of logging out. It's super annoying.

Oddly enough it DOESN"T do this if i turn ON my VPN....one would think this is when it should ask, not when coming from my static IP address that I aways log in from.
