Question

The CA quarterly tax deadline (according to IRS) is extended to 10/16/23. However on my quickbooks site it says I owe by September 15. Am I still okay to wait by October?

It's great to see you here in the Community forum, @cdrmg20. I'm here to provide you with information about filing tax extensions in QuickBooks so you can ensure your taxes are filed correctly and on time.

Yes. You have until October 16, 2023, to file your tax forms in California. The state offers an automatic 6-month extension to file your return, which means you do not need to submit an extension form to receive additional time for filing your taxes.

Nevertheless, QuickBooks might issue reminders or notifications according to standard tax schedules. However, it's important to note that these dates can occasionally differ depending on individual circumstances or announcements from the IRS. With that said, you have the option to disregard the notifications in your QuickBooks Self-Employed account.
