Question

The payroll section will not allow me to set a hire date no matter what date I choose from a month ago, to 2 months forward. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for reaching out to the Community, Robert.

I understand the importance of setting a hire date for your employee in QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP). For now, let's perform some troubleshooting steps to determine if the issue is related to your browser.

To begin with, please open an incognito window. This will prevent your browsing history from being saved. You can use the following keyboard shortcuts based on the type of browser you are using:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Next, go to the QuickBooks Online (QBO) page and set a hire date again. If it works, you can clear your browser's cache. This removes the webpage data that's causing the issue. If a private browser doesn't work, you can use other installed supported browsers as another option.
