Question

This is my first time filing as a corporation. I received a letter stating that my 944 was filed but not the 941. I’m assuming 944 was filed by QB will 941 also be done?

I’m assuming the form 944 was file by QB because I haven’t spoken with my tax advisor. Will QB also file the 941?

Hey there, @CC0722. Thanks for bringing this up on the QuickBooks Community page.

I'd be glad to share insights about filing tax forms in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Since QuickBooks already filed the 944 tax forms, it doesn't necessarily need to file the form 941. Both of these forms report your Social Security, Medicare, and withheld federal income taxes. The only difference is that the 941 tax form is filed quarterly while the 944 tax form is filed annually.

Moreover, Form 944 is designed for some employers whose annual liability for Social Security, Medicare, and withheld federal income taxes is $1,000 or less for the year.

In addition, there are several payroll reports you can use to view useful info about your business and employees. You can check them out in this resource: Run payroll reports.

Please let me know if you have any other concerns or questions. I'd be happy to provide more details on filing payroll taxes through QuickBooks Online.
