Timesheets - Overtime

Hi,

If employees are lodging their own timesheets, is there a way to automatically apply the overtime rates after so many hours. Eg. the employee gets paid normal time for the first 7.6hrs, Time & 1/2 for the next 2 Hours, rest of the day is at double time.

When the timesheets are approved, all of the hours are showing up under "Ordinary Pay". We are only using the QuickBooks Payroll not QuickTime.

Thanks Jo

Hello, Jo1234.

Welcome to the Community. I can help you set up automatic overtime rates in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

There are steps you can perform to set an automatic overtime rate. You can start by setting up overtime.

Here's how:

  1. In QuickBooks Time, go to Company settings.
  2. Choose Payroll & Overtime, then Overtime.
  3. Make your selections and Save.

Once done, you can now set rules for automatically applying overtime to your employees: Configure and change advanced overtime settings in QuickBooks

For additional reference, I've attached a link you can use for some tips about special overtime situations in QBO: Calculating overtime based on two hourly rates

You can always drop by if there's anything else I can help you with. I'd be more than willing to lend a hand.
