Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, Wendy Silva.

I'll share the steps on how you can record the absences.

If you don't have the option to track absences from Exaktime, then you can do this in QuickBooks. Just make sure to set up the time-off policies like paid or unpaid time off by following these steps:

  1. Go to Lists > Payroll Item List.
  2. From the Payroll Item drop-down, select New.
  3. Select Custom Setup, then Next.
  4. Choose Wage, then click Next.
  5. Select Annual Salary or Hourly Wages, then hit Next.
  6. Choose Sick or Vacation Pay, then click Next.
  7. Enter a name for the item, then NextNote: If you use time off you can rename this item to TO.
  8. Choose the expense account you want for the item, then click Finish.

Once done, add the paid or unpaid time off to your employees. You can check out this article for more information: Set up and track time off in payroll.

If you use QuickBooks Time, please make sure to set up your time off policies there. This is to match what you set up in your QuickBooks Desktop Payroll account. You and your team members can also track time off using QuickBooks Time, which will sync back to payroll.

Please let me know if there's anything else you need. I'll be around to help you out again. Take care and stay safe.
