One week of payroll data is not showing online for April 21-April 27.  I tried to enter payroll using these dates, but Online only allow me to go back to June.  How do I add this data to Online to correct the discrepancy?

A seamless data migration process is essential in securing accurate records in the system, Michael. To identify the root cause of the missing payroll transaction, allow me to route you to our payroll support and share information regarding file transfers.

Please be guided on what happens to your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Payroll data once transferred to QuickBooks Online (QBO). When moving entries from QBDT to QBO, some payroll information is unavailable or won't move to the Online version. Here are some essential details to take note:

  • Paychecks are converted as regular checks to keep your financial records accurate.
  • QBO transcripts the current year's paycheck details and presents them as lump sums.
  • The transactions that could affect your accounts, such as liability refunds, adjustment data, and opening balance transactions, are transferred to journal entries.
  • All employees, regardless of status (active or inactive), are moved to QBO.
  • Some employee information will not displayed the way it's shown in QBDT. You might need to review and modify employee details.

For additional reference about how your entries move from QBDT to QBO, please check this link: Learn how features and data move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.
