Question

Trying to change the Company Name & get a message that doing this will disable e-services & unable to save the new name. How can I turn off e-services?

As of not I have tried to save the company name change but get a message that doing so will disable e-services and it will not allow the change to save. I do not see the option under Payroll Settings to disable E-services. How can I change the company name and keep e-services?

Hi there, @rahaugen. I'll point you in the right direction to get this sorted out so you can modify your company's name inside QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

You'll want to contact our Customer Care Team and let them know about the messages you received when attempting to change your company's business name. This way, they can assign a representative to access the account in a secured environment to determine the root cause of the issue. To begin, here's how:

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help (?).
  3. Select either tab to get started:
  • Assistant: Get quick, personalized answers. Select a suggested option, or type a question or topic you need help with. If you decide you need further help, you can still Talk to a human.
  • Search: Search the QuickBooks Online knowledge base directly, or select Contact Us and choose a way to connect with us:
    • Start a chat with a support expert.
    • Get a callback from the next available expert.

I am having the same issue and even contacted a CSR who was unable to help me after over an hour on the phone. Shouldn't we be able to change the company name just in our Quickbooks account? I'll be interested to see if you ever had a resolution to this

I can share a way to change your company name and other information in QuickBooks Online (QBO). 

 

The error you’ve encountered is usually caused if you have active electronic services in your QuickBooks Online Payroll. synced to your QBO company file. To get around that prompt message and proceed to change your company name, you’ll need to turn off it first before updating in QBO

 

After changing them from your Payroll account, you can proceed to the steps below to continue in your QBO:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. In the Company tab, tap the Edit icon to update some information.
  3. Then, click Save and Done.
