Trying to switch to online and it is saying my payroll amounts myabe incorrect but I entered the amounts from desk top. How do I move forward to pay my employees?

Allow me to share some insights as to why you encounter the error you are due to an incorrect tax deduction entry. The system has detected this and reminds us to enter the correct Social Security (SS) deduction amount from the employee's prior payroll. It is important to note that the Social Security and Medicare taxes (FICA) are expected to be percentages of an employee's taxable earnings. Therefore, if you enter incorrect tax deductions, you may encounter errors.

To assist you better, I am sharing an article on how to set up a prior payroll in QuickBooks Online. This will guide you on how to enter historical paychecks accurately.
