Question

Under taxes - > payments it says in my account that WA Workers Compensation will be paid by Intuit automatically. Why do you claim that when in fact don't pay it?

this is very confusing for all users of intuit. every quarter i sit down and am confused: is it indeed going to be paid or do i need to pay it manually. then i call intuit and they say on the phone: we are testing a bet version of those automatic payments so maybe it is paid maybe it is not, maybe we will start paying it in the future... Intuit, do you realize that you are putting a lot of people in danger of either missing a payment or being double charged??? make your system clear so it reflect you don't pay it. And if you do roll out automatic payments for workers compansation in the future each user should be able to opt in for them if they choose. Don't just send me an email "hey we are gonna start automatically paying them for you" because the odds are i will miss that email and will be double charged. It has to be my choice! and stop lying on your payment page!

There's an automatic tax payment feature if you're using QuickBooks Online Payroll Core, Premium, or Elite. You can read more details about this feature here: Manage Automatic Tax Payments and Form Filings.

 

We also appreciate and have taken note of your feedback on how the beta testing for the auto payment of Washington Workers Compensation is being done. I would recommend sending it directly to our product development team from your QBO account.

 

Customer's input, and feature requests are collected and reviewed by our engineers when updates and new features are designed. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.
  2. Type in your feedback and suggestions about the advertisements in QBO.
  3. Click Next to submit them.

thanks but this doesn't answer my question. I know there is an automatic tax payment feauture and i use it but i am asking specifically about autopay of workers compensation: it says it is autopaid but it is not!

Hello there, @Yelly74.

 

Currently, the automatic payments to Washington State aren't available in QuickBooks Online Payroll. It only provides a worksheet to help you prepare the original form. You'll have to process it manually to the WA.

 

To help you remove the WA Worker's Compensation tax, we can record the tax payment if you have paid the tax directly to the agency.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Select Taxes, then choose the Payroll Taxes tab.
  2. Click Enter prior tax history.
  3. Select Add Payment.
  4. Enter the required payment information (choose the tax type first before the Liability Period).
  5. Hit OK.
