Any guess as to when the 941 form will be updated for 2024? I want to get a jump on my quarterly filings and the form still says 2023 on it.

It also is not one of the forms under IL that shows updated with the last update.

I appreciate you for updating your payroll, OE613

Before proceeding, please ensure first that your tax table is 22408. If your tax table in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) is already up to date but the form is still not showing, I recommend contacting our support team. This way, they can see the reason why this is happening on your end and may be able to provide the next course of action.

Here's how to contact them:

  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Type your issue in the space provided, then select Continue.
  5. Sign in to your Intuit account.
  6. Select Continue and then Continue with my account. If you don't already have an account, make sure to Create a new account.
  7. We'll email you a single-use code. Enter your code and select Continue. If you have more than one account, select the account you want to use and then Continue.
  8. Select to chat with us or Have us call you.

Additionally, here's an article for you to find information on the latest payroll update (22408) as well as earlier release updates: Get latest payroll news and updates in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll

Furthermore, you may want to use this as a guide as you e-file your federal tax forms and e-pay your federal taxes electronically: E-file and e-pay federal forms and taxes in QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Enhanced.

Thanks for posting here in the Community, @amyk3448. I'll shed some light on obtaining the updated 941 forms in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

The Form 941 will be automatically updated in QuickBooks through Payroll Tax Table Updates. That said, you'll need to wait for the latest updates from QuickBooks for the latest and most accurate data for tax form filings.

While we don't have a specific timeframe for when this update will be implemented, I recommend updating your tax table to the latest release so you'll always have the latest features and fixes. In case you don't have the latest payroll update, you can follow these steps to update it:

  1. Go to the Employees menu and click Get Payroll Updates.
  2. Select the Download Entire Update checkbox.
  3. Tap Update, and then a window appears when the download is complete.

On the other hand, check out this article to help track your payroll and employee expenses in QBDT: Customize payroll and employee reports. This will help you focus on the most essential information for your business.

Please let me know if you still have questions or concerns about managing your payroll transactions in QBDT. I'll be here to lend a helping hand. Have a great day ahead!

Thank you, I have automatic updates for payroll enabled, and manually updated the entire payroll just in case that was the issue with the message that the program was still using 2023 forms. I guess I will have to wait.

In times long since past, the updated 941 form would have shown up around the start of March.

Judging by the past few years, we probably won't see the new 941 form until the last week or two of April. If we're lucky, that is.

I got the notification on Friday that there was a critical payroll update. Once updated, the 2024 forms are loaded and available.

I just did a payroll update this morning, and the form is still not showing as 2024.
