Let me share some insights about what to enter in the Hours accrued per hour paid field in your employee's vacation setup in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Payroll so you can manage their time off accordingly.

There isn't a setup in QBDT Payroll that can determine if an employee reached a specific number of hours worked, for example, 2080 hours per year. You'll only be allowed to add hours accrued based on the Accrual period you choose. It should be determined or decided on your end, and then we'll help you set it up in the system.

Once you've decided how much to accrue per hour paid, go back to the Sick and Vacation window in your employee's profile to set it up.

When you're done, you can run a payroll report, like Payroll Summary, from the Reports menu to track how many hours an employee has worked. Then from there, you can decide whether you add more vacation hours or not.
