Hi.  I want to void or delete a payroll liability adjustment, but I don't see where I can do it.  Is there a way to void them, or do you just have to type $0 into every field?

Hi, ajm01998.

Allow me to chime in and share some information on how you can delete the adjustment in QuickBooks Desktop.

Permissions are not the cause why you cannot delete an adjustment, since you have access to your payroll account. You can delete the adjustment by pressing CTRL+D on the keyboard and clicking OK to confirm.

I got your back, @ajm01998.

Let’s delete your liability adjustment in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

  1. Go to the Employees menu.
  2. Select Payroll Center.
  3. In the Transactions tab, select Liability Adjustments.
  4. Click to open the adjustment. Then, Delete.

After finishing, confirm that the SUI is not selected in the Payroll Info. To finish the work, just adhere to the procedures listed below:

  1. Follow the first and second steps above.
  2. In the Employees tab, find the name of the employee.
  3. Click Payroll Info. Then, Taxes.
  4. Under the State section, uncheck the SUI.
  5. Once done, click OK to reflect the changes

Afterward, run a payroll checkup to verify and review your employee's records.

Thanks.  I don't see anywhere that I can delete the adjustment.  Could it be an issue with my permissions?
