w2 and previous years' filing history

I have had to change the name of my qb workbook after I created and filed W2 and other tax forms.

Now, there are no "Saved Filings"

Where are the previously named workbook's saved filings (name of file) and can I copy those to the current workbook?

Thanks

Hello, FMW!

I can assist you in obtaining the old forms that have been filed.

The file location is the most likely reason why the previous payroll forms aren't showing up. The location of the company file determines the location of the saved filing in QuickBooks Desktop. You'll want to double-check that they're both in the same place.

Pull them up and move them to the same spot as your company file if you still remember where they are. Check this article for more details on how you can find them: Locating Backups and Company Data Files.

Another possibility is that you restored the wrong backup file. When creating a backup, you'll want to change the file name to minimize confusion and guarantee that you're utilizing the right one. Please review these articles on how to manage your backup files:

Finally, if you require assistance in resolving data-related concerns, I have included the following link: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.
