Question

WA state SOC codes that have been entered into QuickBooks Desktop 2022

I have entered the WA SOCs that are now required for my 4th quarter state unemployment reporting.  In the past I have uploaded the state SUI details into an Excel spreadsheet that I would copy to create the upload file.  I tested that recently on a client whose payroll is now complete for the quarter, and QBs did not upload the SOCs that were entered for this employer.  How do I access those codes, and is it possible to still create an Excel SS to edit for my CSV upload?  Thanks.

Thank you for visiting the Community today, JAT1967.

Let's get you connected to the right channel that can properly address your payroll concern.

We'll have to check the CSV file to determine the cause of the issue. However, this requires us to gather personal data to access an account, including the company file.

Since the security of your information always comes first, I recommend contacting our Payroll Support Team. One of our specialists will perform a screen-sharing session and review your payroll data from there. When the issue has been identified, they will assist you in implementing the real-time solution.

To obtain the support information:

  1. In your company file, go to the Help menu at the top bar and choose Contact Us.
  2. Type a brief description of the issue, like, encountering an issue customizing a statement, and select Continue.
  3. Sign in to your Intuit account and click Continue and then Continue with my account.
  4. If you don't already have an account, make sure to Create a new account.
  5. We'll email you a single-use code enter it and select Continue.
  6. If you have more than one account, select the account you want to use and then Continue.
  7. Select any of the following options: Chat with us or Have us call you.

You can go over this reference to learn more about how to enter your state's occupational codes: Set up occupational codes.

To help you stay on top of your taxes and forms, I've included a link that contains a list of dates when you should process your payroll forms as well as the tasks you'll need to complete: Year-end checklist for QuickBooks Desktop Payroll.

Keep me posted if you have additional questions about processing your payroll forms or other payroll-related processes. I'll get back to help you and make sure you're taken care of, JAT1967.

Thank you!  I figured out how to input the codes into QBs, so they are there.  I need to know how to pull the information in a format that I can use to generate the .csv upload files without having to hand enter the codes.

I know a way for you to get the necessary payroll information without having to enter the codes in QuickBooks Desktop, @JAT1967. Allow me to guide you through it.

You may get the required information by running the UI QTD report from the Payroll Center without entering any codes. I'll show you how:

  1. Open the Employees menu.
  2. Click on Payroll Center.
  3. Go to the File Forms section.
  4. Select UI QTD - Report to Complete Employer's Quarterly UI Return.
