We are starting a night shift, need to adjust our times. Payroll Runs from Wednesday to Tuesday cut-off is 11:59 PM. How do I fix the time for the night shift?

Currently, QuickBooks doesn’t have the option to particularly follow your company’s cut-off time as it works depending on the schedule created.

In your case, you’ll want to create the time in advance a day before cut off to ensure that you’re employee can get the complete worked hours of their shift. However, this is applicable if you’re certain that this employee will be present on that shift.

To create them ahead of time, we can start an unscheduled payroll by following the steps below:

1. Select the Payroll menu from the left navigation pane and tap the Employees tab.
2. Beside the Run payroll dropdown, click the dropdown. From there, select one of the following options: Bonus only, Commission only, or Fringe benefits only.
3. Select As net pay or As gross pay and enter any information about taxes or paycheck calculations.
4. To track your payroll, pay period, and pay date, choose or review the QuickBooks bank account.
5. Choose the employees you want to pay.
6. Enter any necessary hours, compensation, memos, or other paycheck information.
7. Select Payroll Preview.
8. Choose between Preview payroll details, Save for later, or Submit payroll.
9. Confirm the payment method and amounts, then click Finish Payroll.
