Question

We have a checking account that all payroll is completed through. When we pay our taxes, we pay out of a savings account. Need help with entry.

Manual entry on Federal website has the payment coming correctly into our savings account. But when we try to complete the tax payment screen in QB - it won't use the savings account. Just checking.

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to isolate this issue, @heather-shirtsta.

 

I recommend accessing your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account in a private or incognito window and paying your taxes from there. 

 

This way, we can check if this is a browser's cache issue. Too much data from the browser causes discrepancies that affect the views and performance of your account. Using an incognito window helps us verify the issue as this doesn't save any data files.

 

To open a private window, you can refer to these keyboard shortcuts: 

 

  • Ctrl + Shift + N for Google Chrome browser
  • Ctrl + Shift + P for Mozilla Firefox & Microsoft Edge browsers
  • Command + Shift + N for Safari browser

 

If you’re able to select your savings account and pay your tax, I’d propose clearing your regular browser's cache to refresh the system. If the issue remains, I recommend using other supported browsers. This way, we can check if this is a browser-integrated issue.
