Question

We shutdown our company on 6/1. Looking to get the final W2 forms etc. and then shutdown the Quickbooks payroll account without having to wait till end of January?

Hello there, @thebhatia. I'll share some details regarding the availability of W2 forms in QuickBooks.

The official printable copies of the W2 forms in QuickBooks Online Payroll will be available on January 13, 2023. For more information about this, please refer to this article: Print your W-2 and W-3 forms.

If you can't wait until the said date, you can file your W2 forms manually with the IRS instead. We can run the Payroll tax and wage summary report to help you fill out the form. This report displays the total subject wages, excess wages, and taxable wages by tax type. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Enter and choose Payroll tax and wage summary in the search field.
  3. Select the date range, then tap on Apply.
  4. Select the tax type you want to see the wage base for.

Moreover, you can customize the format of each report to show the exact details you need. Also, you can either export it to Excel or print it after.
