Question

We use QuickBooks online with the automatic tax filing feature, and the W-2s pending are incorrect. December payroll is not included. Is there a way to manually edit?

It appears that the forms were auto generated a week or so before year end, and we had one more payroll run on 12/31.

Hi there, stephanie-norths.

Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I'll ensure you'll be routed to the right support team to assist you in correcting your payroll and W-2s.

When you're using QuickBooks Payroll Core or Full service, Intuit generates and sends your payroll taxes and forms automatically for you. With that, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Payroll Support Team. They have the tools to pull up your account in a secure environment which we're unable to do it here in the Community. Then, they will help you in making any changes in your payroll or W2s.

Here's how to contact them:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Account.
  2. At the top right, click the Help icon.
  3. Choose the Assistant section.
  4. Type your concern in the Type something field.
  5. Click Talk to a human.
  6. Click I still need a human.
  7. Click the Get help from a human.
  8. You'll be routed into the How can we help? page. Then, select callback or how you want to contact them and fill in the information.

You can browse this article to learn more about the different types of support we offer at Intuit and its availability: Support hours and types.

For more information about the taxes and forms we file for your payroll service and check your filing status, please see the following links:

If you need anything else, please post them here or mention me anytime. I'll be more than happy to share some more insights about payroll and all other topics about QBO. Have a good one!
