What do i do when quick books will not run payroll the normal way

It gives me an error  saying we have already paid quarterlies therefore cant run the next 2 months for payroll help...

Hey there, @mhirschfelder.

 

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), running a payroll depends on the pay schedule or frequency you've set. On your end, you might've set it to quarterly based on the error message that's why you weren't able to run payroll for the next two months. To fix this, we'll have to change your employees' pay schedule.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Payroll, then select Employees.
  2. Select your employees.
  3. From the Employment details, select Start or Edit.
  4. Select the pay schedule for the employee moving forward in the Pay schedule ▼ dropdown. You can choose either Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Semi-monthly, or Monthly. 
  5. Fill out the appropriate fields and select Save.
  6. When done, click on Save.
