Question

What happened to QuickBooks Self Employed? I can only find Soloprenuer, I don't want that. Can someone direct me to the Self Employed sign up page?

After over an hour of Googling and searching, I can't locate Quickbooks Self Employed sign up page anywhere! I use Self Employed and want my husband to sign up for his business as well but we can't find the link anywhere. He signed up for Soloprenuer but it lacks all of the things I love about Self Employed. Please help!

It seems they have stopped offering QBSE and are only retaining existing users.

Hello there. I understand the frustration this may have caused you.

Indeed, we no longer offer QuickBooks Self-Employed. The good thing is if you have subscribed to QuickBooks Self-Employed, you can continue using it. However, since your husband is a new user, I recommend exploring our other product options, including QuickBooks Solopreneur.

You can refer to the Introduction to QuickBooks Solopreneur article to learn more about the transition. It provides insights into the differences between the two products and how QuickBooks Solopreneur caters to one-person businesses like yours.

Additionally, since you want the QuickBooks Self-Employed, consider providing feedback about your experience. QuickBooks values user input, and your suggestions may influence future updates.

Here’s how to submit feedback:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the top right corner.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or suggestions and click Submit.

You can also track the status of your request in our customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online.

While waiting, stay updated by visiting our QuickBooks Blog for the latest innovations and product news.

Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance with your husband's subscription or have any other QuickBooks-related inquiries. Stay safe.

I have a quickbooks self employed membership but the mileage tracker hasn’t been working so I deleted it but when I went to reinstall it, the app was gone. Since I still have an account can you send me the link to download the app again?

Since Self-Employed does not have receipt capture, I am going to have to move to Simple Start. But there's a catch......YOU CAN'T TRANSFER DATA! After sitting on chat and the phone with QB Support, they told me:

  • You can't download/transfer receipts and would have to manually re-upload them
  • You can't download/transfer invoices and would have to manually re-upload them
  • You can only download/transfer one year of transactions
  • There is no current workaround to this other than manually entering the information yourself

The Support person informed me that they will eventually move everyone over to Solopreneur and that she EXPECTS all data to be transferred but it hasn't been confirmed yet. Then, if you want to upgrade to Simple Start (for the receipt capture), then you would be able to do a clean transfer of historical data from Solopreneur to Simple Start.

This is a mess. I can't believe they are going to discontinue an accounting product and not have a solution to allow you to keep historical data.

Thanks for joining the Community and getting involved with this thread, R2 Group.

You can export a detailed list of all your transactions as a CSV file.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Transactions menu.
  2. Use your Type, Account, and Time period ▼ drop-downs to sort the transactions.
  3. Select your Export icon.

You'll want to be aware that receipts won't be exported with transaction records. You can download receipts from specific transactions, or go to the Reports menu and download all receipts for specific tax years.

If you plan on upgrading to a QuickBooks Online plan and would like to import your exported transactions, you'll want to refer to our Format CSV files in Excel to import transactions article. After confirming your CSV file(s) are formatted properly, you can manually upload them.

In regard to your feedback, you can follow the steps in my colleague's posts above to submit feature requests about what changes you'd like to see.

I've also included a couple detailed resources about moving from QuickBooks Self-Employed which may come in handy moving forward:

Please don't hesitate to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a lovely Tuesday!

None of these instructions work and NO I DONT WANT SOLOPRENEUR IT DOES NOT DO RECEIPT matching.

First I could not log in. Still can’t. 403 error since MAY. Your attachments aren’t working either.

Then instead of telling me a long-term customer that you were discontinuing something I use all the time you just made it impossible for me to get support when I couldn’t login because you have to have the app to get support.

Here we are now months later and I finally decided to tackle this again because my trips aren’t getting tracked and my receipts aren’t getting scanned — the two things I use it for — and you walk me through deleting it from my phone and now I can’t get it back from the Apple store.

if I click on purchased I still can’t login I cannot find the app on my phone because it was removed from my screen, but if I try to click on it to download it again it does not exist in the store. It still thinks it’s on my phone but it’s not. Your instructions don’t work.

You’ve been taking my money without providing anything since at least May and that’s fraudulent so I want access to my data and what I’ve paid for.

This is a terrible business decision and the CEO of your company needs to understand how bad somebody screwed up. You are losing customers left and right because everybody’s talking about how horrible you are.

Oh I like you, Pammiam! PREACH IT!

As it is, lately, I’ve been having to manually enter most of my mileage as it simply isn’t tracking it properly. I keep thinking to myself that I should just bite the bullet and set aside some time to enter in the last seven months of driving and transactions into Stride, as I am already going to leave QuickBooks altogether at the end of the year. Might as well save myself $150
