Hello there, @corralbecky-gmai.

I appreciate you for asking us today in the Community. The EIN is your Employer's Identification Number provided to you by the IRS.

It is required if your business is a corporation, partnership, or LLC and has employees.

If you're referring to the employer's account number, it means you'll need to enter your state tax information. In QuickBooks, we have three types of State tax information in QuickBooks Online:

  1. State account numbers- your company needs to register in states. Once registered, employers are assigned an account or identification number.
  2. State unemployment rate- these numbers are for unemployed persons.
  3. Supplemental state taxes- this is an additional sales tax for employees and employers.

If you don't have a number, you can contact your state to get one. You can also visit the Payroll Tax Compliance link to et the contact information.

Get back to me if you have any other concerns. I'll be here to guide you some more.
