Question

What is the correct way to set up Illinois state mandated retirement for employees? Amount is not being submitted by qb. Per state it should be sent through api setup.

We set up the employees per the qb directions, but no contributions we sent. According to the state they should be made automatically through the API connection.

Hi there, @ptraimee.

How are you doing today? I hope your day is going great so far.

QuickBooks Online is used to track the contributions, not pay it out. In order for them to be sent, it is up to the employer to submit them to the state's website. For more information about setting up retirement plans in QuickBooks, please feel free to check out the guide I'm including below.

For additional details about submitting the contributions to the state's website, I recommend consulting with their Support Team.

Let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with today. I'm always happy to help. Take care!

Hi according to the state of Illinois the contributions are sent through the api connection. They turned off my ability to submit them through their site because we have quickbooks connected.
The button to submit contributions is actually grayed out. They said there was a certain way to set it up so the contributions are made. But they don’t have those directions for employers in writing.
The Illinois secure choice help desk said that the contributions are made through the connection.
