I sent a contractor a w-9 through the subscription: Contractor Payments & 1099 filing

I now cannot find them anywhere. I cannot access the page I did when I first subscribed. Nothing.

Help.

I appreciate you reaching out here with your query, jdick13. Let me provide information to help you acquire W9s in QuickBooks.

If you mean viewing filled-out W9s from your contractors, you can find these forms from their profiles in your QuickBooks Online account. To do this:

  1. Go to Payroll and select Contractors.
  2. Choose the contractor’s name.
  3. Click on the Details tab to see the contractor's personal info and the Documents tab to see a copy of the W-9.

If you're a contractor requesting to access and complete W9 information, you'll receive an invitation from your employer to get a free version of a QuickBooks Self-Employed account. Then, fill out the necessary details and view them in your QBSE file. To guide you through the process, refer to the steps below.

  1. Open the invite email and select the link.
  2. If you already have a QuickBooks Self-Employed account, select Sign in. Or, follow the steps to create a limited QuickBooks Self-Employed account. Please know that this account has limited features: you can fill out your W-9, submit it, and view your 1099-MISC
  3. Go to the Clients tab.
  4. Follow the steps to fill out and submit your W-9.

Once your employer or client submits your 1099-MISC to the IRS, you'll get an email when it's ready for download. You may also access your W9 copies from the Clients tab in your QBSE account.

For further guidance, check out this article: Fill out a W-9 and view your 1099-MISC in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Moreover, I'm sharing this reference to help you manage contractor's W9 forms: Instructions for the Requester of Form W-9.

I'll be around in this thread if there's anything else you need assistance with when handling contractors in your account. Just keep me posted in this forum, so I can help you further. Stay safe!
