Hi there, @deann3.

I'm here to help you post your Texas Unemployment tax payment in QuickBooks.

Texas has implemented a new Third Party Administrator (TPA) process. You can authorize Intuit to act as your payroll agent in Texas (TX), so we can pay and file unemployment taxes on your behalf and update your rate.

You can follow the steps below on how to authorize Intuit as your payroll agent:

  1. Sign in to your Texas Workforce account.
  2. Go to the Texas Workforce Commission site, then select Written Authorization to Represent Employing Unit (Form C-42).
  3. Sign in to your Texas Workforce Commission account.

Complete the Written Authorization form.

  1. Complete the Written Authorization form and follow the instructions to submit the form to the agency.
  2. Add the following information to these fields to add Intuit as your TPA.
  •  Line 8: In the Grantee Name enter:
  • If you have QuickBooks Online Payroll: PayCycle Inc.
  • If you have QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Assisted: Computing Resources Inc.
  • Line 9: Grantee TWC Account Number- leave this field blank as it isn't required.
  • Line 9: For the Grantee, address enter 6884 Sierra Center PKWY., Reno, NV, 89511.

Once done, you can contact our Payroll Support Team to complete the process. To reach them, see this article: Contact Payroll Support. For detailed instruction about the process above, open this link: Authorize Intuit as your Texas Unemployment Third Party Agent.

However, you can also post your Texas Unemployment payment directly to Texas Workforce Commission in case you don't want Intuit to authorize your taxes. You can log on to their website to process the payment.

Also, I'll be sharing these links that will guide you in entering prior payments and running payroll reports in QuickBooks:

Post again in the Community if you have any other concerns, I’m more than happy to help. Have a good one!
