Question

Where is the link to export my online payroll to my Quickbooks desktop? This used to be obvious in the old version.

I have completed my one check payroll. Now I need to export that transaction to my desktop Quickbooks. Where is the link? On what page or report?

Good morning, @andy2356

Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the QuickBooks Community for support and sharing your concerns.

You'll want to ensure you set up your Export Preferences so you can export your data to QuickBooks Desktop. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then choose Payroll Settings.
  2. Click the Pencil icon next to Export
  3. Choose QuickBooks Online and tap Continue
  4. Select the company you want to export into and choose the accounts for each wage expense or liability.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the setup.

After that, you can now export your payroll data. Let me show you how.

  1. Go back to the Payroll settings page.
  2. Choose Export transactions in the Export section.
  3. Click Export

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I'm always around to lend a hand. Take care!
