Question

Who or how should I contact to get help with this? Quickbooks automatically withdrew the wrong payroll tax period in my bank account and they got my money.

Our payroll support team is equipped to handle any payroll issues you may encounter, Tran. I'm here to help you connect with them.

Before I route you to them, please note that we're simplifying payroll taxes for QuickBooks Online (QBO) Payroll customers by withdrawing taxes each time payroll is processed or updated, rather than just when they're due. Customers can view withdrawal amounts during payroll processing and check past withdrawals in the Payroll Tax Center. The funds will be held until they're due for tax agencies.

For those with Auto Pay & File enabled, we automatically handle payments and filings by their due dates; those who disabled this feature must submit them manually. Note that customers cannot opt out of automated withdrawals if Auto Pay & File is turned on, but they can turn off this feature to manage their own payroll tax payments and filings.

Since the withdrawal is for the wrong payroll tax period, please follow the steps below to connect with our payroll support team:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online Company.
  2. Click the Help button at the top of the page.
  3. Choose the Search tab. Type in your concern and click enter on your keyboard.
  4. Click Contact us.
  5. Under Callback, click the Have us call you button. This will route you to enter your details.
  6. After that, select Get a call.

Please refer to this article for their phone number and the details about their support hours: Contact Payroll Support.

Additionally, you can run payroll reports to get a comprehensive overview of your business finances.

Let us know if you have other concerns with your payroll taxes in QBO. We're here to help you in any way we can.
