Question

Why can't I edit employment details for employees?

I cannot change the status nor select the manager or anything else under "Edit" for Employment details. I always receive the following when I attempt to edit anything in Employment details "Something went wrong on our end. Please refresh the page and try again later." Very frustrating.

Hi, rockme54.

I understand that you're experiencing difficulties editing employment details for your employees. I can help you resolve this problem.

The error message you're encountering, "Something went wrong on our end. Please refresh the page and try again later," is often a temporary issue related to the platform. We can troubleshoot the issue by accessing your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account through incognito mode on your browser, and editing the employee information there.

For Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge / Opera:

  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mac: Command ⌘ + Shift + N

For Firefox:

  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Mac: Command ⌘ + Shift + P

For Safari:

  • Shift + Command ⌘ + N

If you are successful in editing your employee's info through incognito mode, please proceed to clear your browser's cache. Doing so will remove and fix any problems and optimize the program's performance.

Also, let me add this resource if you need fixes or answers to other QBO-related concerns: Self-help articles.

Let us know if you need further assistance or if the problem with editing your employee's info persists. We'll do our best to resolve your issue promptly. Take care.

I have tried incognito mode on Firefox, Chrome and Edge to no avail. I have asked my General Manager and Accountant to try from their computers, no success. I have tried from multiple platforms after clearing cache and then trying incognito mode, still no success.
