Why can't my employee see the "select pay item" option in the weekly time sheet?

I can see the "select pay item" for an employee when I open the weekly time sheet but my employee can't. What would prevent my employee from seeing the "select pay item" option?

First, let's check the pay item settings to ensure the item is assigned to the employee: 
 

  1. Go to Payroll, then Employees.
  2. Select the employee in question.
  3. From Pay types 
  4. Hit Save.

 

If the issue persists, you can have your employee perform some basic troubleshooting steps to isolate the problem. Sometimes, accumulated cache in your browser can cause unusual behavior in QuickBooks. Start by accessing the QBO account in a private or incognito window. Here are the shortcut keys for various browsers: 
 

  • Ctrl Shift for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl Shift for Firefox & Microsoft Edge
  • Command Shift for Safari

 

If your employee can see the pay item in the private window, have them return to their regular browser and clear its cache and cookies to refresh. Alternatively, they can try accessing the account using another supported browser.
