In QBO, an employee may not receive their paycheck once rejected or deposited to the wrong employee. It could also be due to the deposit lead time in QBO. I'll provide further scenarios to help you understand why this occurs.

Unreceived paychecks may be due to an incorrect account number or routing number. You or your employee may contact the receiving bank to verify whether the wrong bank account exists.

• If the Live Account and the deposit were successful, you can request a direct deposit reversal within five business days from the pay date (the paycheck date counts as the first day). However, this won't guarantee the recovery of the funds. You can wait until the reversal is successful. In the meantime, you can pay your employee with a regular check. Once you have the result, update your employees bank account.
• If the account does not exist or is closed and the deposit is rejected, follow the steps on what to do:

- Void the paycheck
- Update the employees bank account
- Recreate the paycheck and send a new direct deposit

Moreover, if the bank account seemed to be owned by another employee, you have these options to recover the funds:

• Option 1: Make an internal arrangement with the employee who owns the bank account to return the funds by cash, check, etc.
• Option 2: Request a direct deposit reversal within five business days from the pay date. Wait until the reversal is completed. You can pay your employee with a regular check while waiting. Once you have the result, update the bank account of your employee.
