When processing payroll for an employee it says net pay must be greater than 0.  It is showing the correct gross pay. I have not seen this message before.

The "Net pay must be greater than 0" message indicates that your net payment amount is less than zero, Timber. I'll share insights about the error message with you.

Are you trying to create a zero-net paycheck? Below are the following reasons to create one:

  • Allocating an entire paycheck towards a retirement savings plan.
  • Allocate a whole salary for income tax purposes.
  • Record a gift provided to an employee, which may include cash or a gift card.

Here is an article to guide you in performing the task: Create a zero net paycheck.

Otherwise, if you have the correct calculation, I suggest contacting our Support Team. They can initiate a screen sharing to view the error in your account and investigate why this happens.
