Why does my new QB checking charge me a fee for direct deposit? I was informed it is free.

Welcome to the Community, joseph.

I’ll share you with a piece of information about the QuickBooks Checking fee.

If you’re referring to instant deposits in QuickBooks Checking then there’ll be a 1% fee on the total amount of the deposit. However, if you link your debit card to your account. QuickBooks will waive the fee for you.

On the other hand, if you’re referring to payroll direct deposits. There are employee usage fees depending on the version you currently have. I also added this page for your reference about how much you will be charged depending on your payroll version: QuickBooks Payroll Pricing.

Moreover, I have a bunch of articles here you can refer to about QuickBooks Checking fees:

I’m always here whenever you have concerns with QuickBooks, just add them as a reply to post them here. Have a good one!

also - I had a chat support from a Melissa Pearl, who abruptly ended the chat. she asked for lots of personal info. I'm concerned this was a scam. Please advise. I saved a chat for your investigator and supervisor.
