Why does the latest email reminder for payroll taxes not show the EFT payment deadline?

Every month we get an email reminder about payroll taxes and forms.  It always shows the due date and the EFT due date.  This month neither the payment reminder nor the form reminder show the EFT deadline date.

Hello, newleafcabinetry.

 

I understand how important it is to be aware of the dates by which your payroll taxes and other forms are due to avoid paying late fees. The email reminder should include details about payroll taxes and the relevant forms, along with their deadlines.

 

After you've paid your employee, the Payroll Tax Center will show the deadlines for filing taxes and forms as well as accepting e-payments. In the meantime, I encourage you to check it manually to know the details. I can show you where to look for it on your account.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Click Taxes on the left side menu.
  2. Choose Payroll Tax.
  3. Select the Pay Taxes button.
  4. This will list the payroll tax balances you owe to different taxing authorities as well as the payment deadlines. The upcoming tax payments can be seen in the Due Later section and once the liability period is over, they'll be moved to the Taxes Due Now.

That still doesn't answer the question.  See the attached copy of the emails below.  First the previous month's then this month's.  Notice the highlighted line that is on last month's email but not this month's.  If you pay your taxes using quick books online there is a date that you have to process it by in order for it to be paid by the due date.  This has always been in the emails for years and now it's not.  Also, after reading your reply I went to Taxes on my account and the 'EFT Deadline to Approve' is no longer on there either.  Just the due date.  The EFT deadline date is different from the due date.  It's usually 2 days ahead but sometimes more when there is a weekend or holiday.  I just would like to know why this has changed and how do I know when I'm supposed to approve the EFT payment.

Yes, you're correct, the EFT payment deadline is exactly different from the due date. As defined, this is a paperless transfer, deducted from one account and almost immediately sent to another account. You'll want to reach out to our support team to double-check and confirm if there are changes to the email communication that is showing on your end. To do this, follow the steps outlined below: 

 

  1. Click the (?) Help icon and enter Talk to a human (then type it again when prompted).
  2. When asked by the bot, enter your concern.
  3. Select I still need a human, then proceed with Contact us or Get help from a human.
  4. Choose either Chat or Callback.
