Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community, jeremy-aalocks. I'll be sharing details on how mileage works in QuickBooks Online. Let me also provide steps so you can track all your mileage accurately.

Before we begin, may I ask as to where the mileage does not appear or track? Is it from the QuickBooks mobile app or on the QuickBooks browser? I would appreciate any additional information so that I can offer accurate information.

Please know that when tracking mileage in QuickBooks, you'll have to sign in as a user with admin privileges for the company file to achieve this process.

In case all the mileage are missing from your phone, I suggest setting up your QBO mobile app and your device properly to track trips accurately. To start with, make sure auto-tracking is on in the QuickBooks mobile app.

Here's how on the iOs:

  1. Open the QuickBooks mobile app.
  2. Choose the menu ☰ icon and select All.
  3. Select Mileage and choose Auto-track your miles.
  4. Follow Allow location access on-screen instructions.

For Android phones or tablet, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open the QuickBooks mobile app.
  2. Choose the menu ☰ icon and select Mileage.
  3. Turn on the Auto-tracking switch.
  4. Give QuickBooks permission to track your location. This will vary depending on your Android Operating System.

Once done, check your device's location settings and ensure the QuickBooks mobile app can run in the background. You can open this article to see instructions on how to perform the method: Fix mileage tracking issues in the QuickBooks Online mobile app. You can continue following Step 3 to fix the issue with mileage.
