Question

Why qb online does not update the PFML rates for WA state. I tried to do the update several times, and when I go back to check, the numbers are the same as before.

Thanks for notifying us of your concern, @madhu3. Allow me to shed some light on updating the Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) rate for Washington state in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

I appreciate the steps you've taken to update the PFML rates. Based on the information we received, the rates are currently hardcoded into payroll, which means we're unable to change them. Nevertheless, we assure you that the updated 2024 rates will be displayed before the end of the first quarter.

If you wish to speak with a representative about this communication, you can follow these steps:

  4. Choose between Chat with us and Have us call you.

Furthermore, here's a guide to assist you in closing out the previous year and preparing for the new one in QBO: Year-end checklist for QuickBooks Online Payroll.
