Why was Payroll tax taken out of my account ?

Thank you for joining the QuickBooks Community. I will be happy to shed some light here! For this situation, there could be many reasons why your account was charged $1700. Perhaps, there was an increase in the rate, for example, State Unemployment Rate, or this is an overall charge for all the payroll checks used, and the list goes on and on. Since I cannot pull up your account in this forum, I believe it is best to contact our Support Team. They will be able to assist better and let you know the reasoning.

1. Go to the Help menu.
2. Hit the Contact Us button
3. Enter "callback" in the "What can we help you with?" section.
4. Select "Let's Talk"
5. Pick the "Get a call" option to connect with us.
