Hey all,

I can't work out how to add overtime? I see the bit where you add if the amount is 1x, 1.5x, 2x etc but how do I put how many hours extra that an employee has done each month? Thank you.

I'm delighted to have you here today.

In case you haven't run payroll inside your QuickBooks Online (QBO) company, you may want to do it first. When running payroll, there's a section where you can enter the total overtime hours performed by a specific employee in your company. However, if you've run payroll, you'll want to delete it and re-run the payroll again to correct the number of overtime your employees accomplished. I'll write down the steps to get you going:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the left navigational bar, go to the Payroll tab.
  3. Select Employees.
  4. Check the pay date. You can select the calendar icon to change when your employees get paid. Remember, the pay date must be within the tax period.
  5. Using the toggle, select all the employees you want to pay. Only employees you've finished setting up will show as available in the list. You can complete the employee setup from here, just select Complete setup.
